Cookie Policy

Last updated: 24/09/2026

Clear information about the technologies our website uses and the choices available to you.

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Clearview Digital Accountancy Ltd (“Clearview”, “we”, “us” and “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on [TO BE FILLED: the website domain and any covered subdomains].

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information, who we share it with and your rights.

You can review or change your choices through Cookie settings in the website footer.

[TO BE FILLED: connect “Cookie settings” to the working preference control and verify its availability on all relevant pages.]

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you use a website. They can help a website remember a choice, maintain a session or recognise a returning browser.

Similar technologies include browser storage, tracking pixels and scripts that store or access information on your device. In this policy, “cookies” includes those technologies where applicable. The inventory below identifies what our website actually uses.

Session cookies normally last for a browsing session. Persistent cookies can remain between visits until they expire or are deleted. Browser settings may affect these periods.

First-party cookies are associated with the website you are visiting; third-party cookies are associated with another domain. Either can involve an external provider. These labels do not determine whether consent is required.

3. Cookie purposes

We distinguish the following purposes. Only the technologies listed in section 4 are in use on this website.

Category

Purpose

Your choice

Strictly necessary

Deliver the service you request, including essential security and remembering your cookie choices. Each use must be necessary for that purpose.

These operate without optional-cookie consent and cannot be switched off through our preference control.

Optional functionality

Provide additional features or remember optional preferences beyond what is necessary for your request.

Off unless you choose to allow them.

Analytics

Help us understand website use and improve content and navigation.

Under our chosen website configuration, these are off unless you consent.

Marketing and advertising measurement

Measure advertising results or support relevant advertising, where these activities are enabled.

Off unless you consent.

[TO BE FILLED: retain only categories actually used, describe their specific purposes and ensure these descriptions match the preference control. Complete the inventory before publication.]

4. Cookies and technologies used on this website

The following inventory explains each technology, its provider, what it does, how long it lasts and when it operates.

[TO BE FILLED: actual cookie name, browser-storage key, pixel or other identifier; one entry per technology]

[TO BE FILLED: what it stores or accesses, why, and its category]

[TO BE FILLED: verified duration; for storage without automatic expiry, the implemented deletion rule]

[TO BE FILLED: the relevant consent choice, or the documented strictly necessary purpose and activation point]

[TO BE FILLED: replace the template row with the complete audited inventory. Include the technology that remembers cookie choices. Do not publish an empty table or describe an unaudited table as complete.]

5. Making your choice

Our cookie notice gives you three options:

  • Accept all: allow all optional purposes described in the notice and settings.
  • Reject optional cookies: keep optional purposes switched off.
  • Customise: choose which optional purposes and relevant providers to allow.

Optional choices are off by default. Continuing to browse, scrolling or closing the notice does not give consent.

You can read about our services and contact us without accepting optional cookies. A feature that depends on an optional technology may remain unavailable until you enable it; we will explain this at the point of use.

Cookie consent is separate from accepting our service terms or choosing to receive marketing emails.

6. Changing or withdrawing consent

Open Cookie settings at any time to update your choices or reject all optional cookies. You do not need to contact us or create an account to do this.

When you withdraw consent, we stop the affected storage, access and consent-based processing, remove the associated technologies and communicate the withdrawal to relevant providers. We also treat withdrawal as a request to erase the personal information collected under that consent, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. It does not require us to delete separate accounting or payment records we must retain by law, and we do not switch the withdrawn tracking activity to another legal basis to continue it.

[TO BE FILLED: verify removal and provider-notification arrangements, including third-party storage. Add any necessary, specific instructions for residual storage; do not make browser deletion the only way to withdraw consent.]

7. Payments and external services

Clearview uses Stripe and GoCardless for payments. The cookies involved depend on which payment route you use and how the payment service is connected to our website.

[TO BE FILLED: describe the actual website payment routes—such as a link to hosted checkout or an embedded payment form—and when each provider loads. Identify the corresponding technologies in section 4. Remove any website integration that is not live.]

Where you follow a link to a provider’s separate website, its own cookie notice and controls apply there. Where we embed a provider’s technology on our pages, our use of that technology is covered by this policy and the choices described here.

You can find the providers’ information in the Stripe Cookie Policy and GoCardless cookie information.

Necessary payment or fraud-prevention technology is assessed for its specific purpose; using a payment provider does not make all of its technology essential. Optional advertising or analytics remains subject to the relevant choice.

[TO BE FILLED: if live chat, booking, video, maps or another embedded service is active, name the provider, explain its storage and information sharing, link its notice and describe the applicable control. Delete this instruction if none is used.]

8. How long cookies and choices last

Section 4 gives the duration of each technology. We use periods appropriate to the stated purpose, including a deletion rule for browser storage that does not expire automatically.

We remember your cookie selection for [TO BE FILLED: the verified period]. We may ask again when that period ends or when a change means your existing consent no longer covers the proposed use. We do not repeatedly ask you to reconsider a refusal during that period without a relevant reason.

Choices normally relate to the browser and device on which you make them. Deleting the preference record, using another browser or changing device may mean you see the notice again.

A cookie’s lifetime is different from the time information collected through it is retained. Our Privacy Policy explains the applicable retention arrangements.

9. Personal information

Some cookie information, including online identifiers and information associated with your browsing, can be personal information even when it does not include your name.

Where optional tracking involves personal information, we rely on your consent for the purposes explained when we request it. Processing associated with strictly necessary technologies must also have an appropriate lawful basis; absence of a cookie-consent requirement does not remove data-protection obligations.

[TO BE FILLED: identify the actual information collected, the relevant lawful bases for necessary processing and the named recipients. Ensure the Privacy Policy covers their retention and any transfers outside the UK, including the applicable safeguards.]

Our Privacy Policy provides further information about those matters and how to exercise your rights.

10. Browser controls

Your browser may also let you block or delete cookies and other stored website information. Its help menu explains the available controls.

Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent a requested feature from working. Deleting browser data can also remove your saved cookie choice.

Browser controls are additional options. You can use our Cookie settings to refuse or withdraw optional-cookie consent without changing your browser settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy and the inventory when our technologies or their purposes change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.

Where a proposed change requires new consent, we request it before that use begins. Publishing an updated policy does not, by itself, give us your consent.
